Plant of the Month March 2021: String of Buttons (Crassula perforata variegata)

Spring’s arrival has been--Will it? Won’t it?--lately. Hasn’t it? Well, I don’t know about you, but I sure can use a bit o’ green. Instead of waiting for it, why not welcome a String of Buttons (Crassula perforata variegata) into your indoor garden? These little magical delights are, well, cute as a button! They are little wedges of green pink tipped leaves suspended by an upright stem. They like to grow in clusters giving the appearance of bushes; which would be perfect for a village scene terrarium (as pictured below). This little piece of happy place doesn’t require much in life, water about once a week-two weeks depending on weather, adapts to small spaces as it grows upwards, and will gift you green when you give it a kiss of gold from the sun. you won’t need much luck to keep it maintained as it is pretty self sufficient. As always, available for purchase at our shop.

String of Buttons (Crassula perforata variegata) needs the following care:

Light ☀️ Full sun to light shade.
Water 💧 Only when soil is completely dry. Do not overwater.
Grow 🌱 Indoors or Outdoors in Frost Free Climates. These are not cold hardy plants.
