Plant of the Month: Watch Chain Plant (Crassula muscosa)

Crassula muscosa or Watch Chain Plant is a favorite of mine, so December being my birthday month, I decided to make it this POTM.

I love how wild it looks! Crassula muscosa looks kind of prehistoric to me, but it gets its common name Watch Chain Plant from it’s resemblance to the tight interlocking links of chain used to attached a pocket watch to clothing. Fine jewelry-making is a passion of mine, so maybe that is part of the appeal.

Below are a couple of examples of terraria I put together with this super cool succulent.

The Watch Chain Plant (Crassula muscosa) needs the following care:

Light ☀️ Full sun to light shade.
Water 💧 Only when soil is completely dry. Do not overwater.
Grow 🌱 Indoors or Outdoors in Frost Free Climates. These are not cold hardy plants.
