Fern & Fossil Shop-dates

Depending on the wood, it can take many years before we can harvest it. Some of us have been in the presence of wood that was germinated even before our ancestors walked the forests in which they grew. We write on it and casually toss it away. We build houses with it that are torn down a few years later. At one point, a sapling became a home for an entire ecosystem from canopy to root. We honor that tree that gave us the ability to provide our human home. We honor a part of this tree.

In the spirit of sustainability, we took reclaimed wood and made it part of our shop. We chose to use what was already taken instead of taking more; not only did we recycle, we kept our landfill less of reusable materials. If possible, we urge you to be more thoughtful of all we use. Every little bit counts in a grand effort amongst us all, together our small efforts can be great.

Besides a beautiful reclaimed accent wall, we have been using our elbow grease to bring you a beautiful warm inviting space in which you can create your own terrariums! We are very proud of our sustainable eco-savvy plant kits. Our space is adding up to a cozy sophisticated green environment in which we can accommodate small groups for classes in terrarium building and eventually master art classes. Our casual yet instructional space is inviting with its mixed atmosphere of old world meets new. We also prepped the front counter wall with a gorgeous green paint that is a reflection of our garden state. Amongst everything else in our space we are working on, we now have a gorgeous neon sign with a motto anyone can adopt “cactus makes perfect” because… it DOES!

We will be opening our shop doors in no time! Add us on social media for more updates on opening day, events and scheduling workshops!
