Terrarium Workshops

Fern & Fossil provides all-inclusive instructional workshops on terrarium building and plant care. Terrarium building allows participants to explore their creativity and learn about plant maintenance in an approachable & sociable way. 

By layering earth & rocks, we create a tiny environment for plants to grow. Each terrarium can be personalized using moss, stones & bespoke ornaments. All Fern & Fossil participants create a unique finished project to take home.

Remote Instruction

Remote terrarium workshops are perfect for your birthday party or team building activity. A Fern & Fossil instructor will guide participants through the process of building a unique custom terrarium, from a remote location.

We use Zoom or your preferred video service, to provide instruction and answer questions during and after the terrarium making activity. Custom ornaments and volume discounts are available on Fern & Fossil Terrarium Kits. Local delivery of kits and USPS priority shipping in 48 US states (excludes Alaska & Hawaii) is available. In Person Instruction

Our policies for In-person instruction have changed as a result of COVID 19. Please review the information below if you wish to book an in-person workshop or event with us.

For in-person instruction we typically arrive a 1/2 hr ahead of our scheduled time to set up - for a maximum time of 2hrs. Due to COVID 19, all participants will have their own individual all-inclusive Terrarium Kits, to maintain physical distancing. For the health and safety of our instructors, Fern & Fossil will not engage in clean up.

COVID Policies for in-person instruction:

1. Fern & Fossil will not be booking or engaging in outdoor events with more than 25 people in attendance.

2. Fern & Fossil will not be booking or engaging in indoor events with more than 10 people in attendance.

3. Masks must be worn at all times per CDC guidelines (ages 2yrs and up).

4. Physical distancing will be in effect (6ft distance).

5. Fern & Fossil will not engage in clean up - all participants will be given their own individual tools, materials, and supplies to keep or discard.

6. In the event that the above rules are not followed, to protect their health and safety, Fern & Fossil instructors reserve the right to leave the scheduled workshop or event. All purchased Terrarium Kits/materials with printed instruction will be left with the host/party organizer to distribute to participants. No refunds if instructor(s) must leave for health or safety reasons.

7. A 50% Non-refundable deposit must be paid to secure the date of the event.

8. All balances must be paid in full to Fern & Fossil, 24 hrs prior to the scheduled event.
